About the project
The project involved reconstructing a 1600-square-meter floor in a business center to accommodate the Ukrainian branch of a US-based technology company. The design team addressed two main challenges: spatial and social separation of different company departments and managing the peculiar nature of simultaneous online meetings held throughout the day.
Removing existing partitions and corridors around the technical core at the center of the floor created an expansive open space connected by a ring of common areas. By emphasizing transparency, the design celebrates breathtaking city views from the 13th floor of the building, which is surrounded by low-rise structures that do not obstruct the vistas.
The project blends clean open spaces with splashes of color from designer lounge furniture. Despite its apparent simplicity, the design incorporates cutting-edge solutions to create a premium office environment for a team of highly skilled professionals. Each desk features a sit-stand station, and to minimize noise, the space incorporates sound absorption panels and a sound masking system, ensuring that conversations do not disrupt the flow of work.
Our approach
Business spaces are inherently focused on functionality. While this may sound simple, functionality has as many definitions as there are businesses, as what may be effective for a sales office might not align well with the needs of a technology company.
The cornerstone of tackling such projects lies in thoroughly understanding the operational intricacies and requirements of the envisioned space. We strive to gather insights into the project-specific pain points and challenges, and then assemble a team that has the expertise to resolve them through smart design and engineering solutions.
Given how investment in office space can impact cash flow and overall business growth strategy, we also aim to balance the upfront costs with the potential long-term benefits by paying particular attention to scheduling and budgeting, as well as future operating expenses such as utilities and maintenance. In doing so, we ensure that the final result not only meets immediate needs but also contributes to the long-term success of the business.
